Introducing our Founder, Jarrod Smith, the determination behind our brand.

Our Founder and Managing Partner, Jarrod Smith is a sales and marketing professional who’s creative mind and dedication have seen his career enjoy stops in North America, the United Kingdom and every major city along the East Coast of Australia. He is now firmly established in Melbourne’s bayside area with his young family.

Holding a bachelors degree in the fields of Marketing and Management, his background includes a variety of sales and marketing management positions across a broad field that includes both B2B and B2C with an understanding of FMCG, retail, manufacturing, direct sales and wholesale distribution. Like the company that bares his name, Jarrod enjoys the variety that comes with working across such a diverse range of industries. Believing that the fundamentals of success can be applied across a variety of fields.

The creation of Smith & Partners grew from a reoccurring request Jarrod and some of our key partners were constantly being asked. That question was “do you know anyone who not only does the marketing and sales side of the business but actually takes the time to get to know me and my business? And tailors the solution specifically to us?….”.

The Smith & Partners founders saw an opportunity to assist business owners, boards and management by providing a service that is all encompassing, imagine one point of call for all of your major initiatives! And more importantly one that you can trust. We take the stress out of managing one of your businesses most important functions, and above all else we take the time to understand the intricacies of your business and your market.

In a dynamic changing landscape, one thing that has consistently remained in business is the need to market yourself and your brand. Competition always finds a way of creeping in to any and all industries. Just ask any of the Fortune 500 companies, if you’re not moving forward and changing with the times you’re not going to survive. The well known stats of Fortune 500 companies disappearing in big numbers every 10 years or so when re-evaluated, are a good indication that whether you’re big, small or otherwise competition will come to your niche at some point. If you’re not able to adapt and strive forward then you’ll join the list that didn’t make it.

But despite the belief to some that disruption is new, this cycle has been happening for as long as business has been measured. A really interesting comparison is that by 1975 around 45% or so of the original Fortune 500 companies from 1955 were no longer around. The number is slightly higher in the 2015 study which saw 57% of the companies featured in 1995 no longer there, but it’s not a drastically different scenario. The bottom line is no matter your industry, company or the era that you’re operating, there will be competition that establishes itself so we better all be ready!

To some that’s a scary thought, if business is so hard and we’re doomed then why bother at all? Because we love a challenge! And we love learning new technologies and new techniques. And even more so we love helping businesses not only survive but strive in today’s competitive environment.
